- Keep the water flowing: Leave a trickle of cold water running from a faucet. The small cost of running water is far less than the cost of repairing a burst pipe.
- Keep your pipes warm: Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate around your pipes. If you have exposed pipes in cold areas use pipe insulation or heat tape.
